One of our jobs at the Mill Valley Chamber is to help you sustain and grow your business. To that end, we've done educational workshops on a variety of subjects over the years, from digital marketing and taxes to hiring and managing the inter-generational divide.

With seasonal swings and an ever-fickle retail climate, our staff and board continues to invest in your business, extending its collaboration with the Marin Small Business Development Center to have experts in their respective fields teach you how to find and retain great employees in a tough hiring market; maximizing your advertising dollars, making sUre you comply with mandatory sexual harassment training in 2019 and how to effectively use Instagram for your business.

With the support of the City of Mill Valley and Pacific Gas & Electric, each workshop is on a Thursday afternoon in the Mill Valley Community Center's Mountain View Room, with easy access and ample parking. You can register for each session below its description.

Here's a breakdown of what we're offering

Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training
Oct 10 – 1:00-3:30pm
Mill Valley Community Center

If you are a business with 5 or more staff (includes part time and full time employees or independent contractors), then you are required by the State to have everyone on your team take a sexual harassment training. Supervisors must take a 2-hour training and non-supervisors must take a 1-hour training and this workshop will give you the needed certificate for either one. If you are a non-supervisor, you may leave after the first hour. This may not sound like a sexy topic, but it is mandatory to do by the end of this year (2019).  Check this off your list now. This session will be interactive, educational and engaging.

Instructor Ginny Kuhel of KuhelBreez Human Resources Consultant, has over two decades of experience in human resources.  Ginny specializes in working with small business owners who have 1 - 50 employees, helping them maneuver through the California landmine of labor laws and regulations, staying compliant and avoiding costly labor lawsuits. She manages all Human Resource needs and concerns that most business owners do not have ample time in their busy days to handle. Teaching is one of her passions, providing executive and employees with informational and fun seminars.
