The event, which concludes with a wine and hors d'oeuvres networking reception, is designed to assist you in learning about the myriad ways to engage with the community around you in Mill Valley, from local government and the school district to a wide array of nonprofit organizations and the business community. Engage Mill Valley comes on the heels of the similarly inspired 2nd Annual Volunteer Day on April 18 in the Depot Plaza.
“Whether you’re a new resident hoping to dip your toes into the Mill Valley tradition of citizen engagement, or an aspiring leader hoping to serve on one of our town’s variety of boards, commissions or City Council, this event will both educate and excite you about getting involved,” Mill Valley Mayor Kenneth R. Wachtel said.
Are you proud to be living in a community with such an extraordinary tradition of giving? Want to learn how local leaders built such landmarks as the Community Center, created vital organizations like Kiddo and took institutions like the Mill Valley Library to new heights – and how you can follow in their tradition? Ordinary people putting their passion in action have enriched the quality of our community life.
Now it’s time for your contribution.
Hear our panelists tell their stories about the challenges and rewards of their engagement. Be ready to be inspired and encouraged to throw your “hat in the ring” – whatever that might mean for you.
